The problem
Digital financial scams targeting ordinary Indians, fake bank suspension notices, UPI fraud, phishing links, are exploding in volume. Traditional detection is reactive. By the time a scam is flagged, victims have already lost money and scammer infrastructure has moved on.
Our solution
An autonomous AI honeypot that detects incoming scam messages and fights back. Instead of blocking and moving on, ARGUS engages the scammer using believable AI personas, an elderly man, a homemaker, a student, extracting bank account numbers, UPI IDs, phishing URLs, and phone numbers before the scammer realizes they are talking to a machine.
What we built
- Rule-based scam detection with confidence scoring across urgency, threat, payment, and personal info patterns
- Three believable victim personas: Rajesh (68, elderly), Priya (45, homemaker), Arun (22, student)
- Multi-turn conversation management across up to 15 messages per session
- Automated extraction of bank accounts, UPI IDs, phishing URLs, phone numbers, and email addresses
- Intelligence accumulation across conversations for pattern analysis
- Automatic reporting to evaluation endpoint on conversation completion
- API key authentication for secure deployment
